16-20 swimmers have a blast in Las Vegas

Our 16-20 competitive swimmers had an unforgettable March Break trip to the Water Beauties Training Camp in Las Vegas, where they met and worked with renowned Olympians Bill May and Suzannah Bianco.

Swimmer Mallory Leclair describes the highlights of their trip:

Las Vegas was an experience that all of us are going to remember forever.  Not only did we get amazing training from USA 1996 Olympian Suzannah Bianco, but we also got to do so many different activities throughout the week.

Our first day started with training at the local municipal pool.  Each morning we got up to go train at the pool with Suzannah and Joanne (current or retired Cirque swimmers). They were both so full of energy and very excited to work with us. We got to experience a new activity in the afternoon of each day. The first day was Aerial yoga, followed by a hike at Red Rock on the second day, stretching with a contortionist on the third day, with Pilates and aerial yoga on the fourth day. On our last day of training, Bill May coached us alongside Suzannah and taught us a new workout routine to do in the water as well as some different ways to throw highlights that are helping us gain more height than before.

When we weren’t training, we got to explore some of Vegas. America’s got Talent winner Mat Franco’s magic act was one of the highlights of our trip. On our last training day, we went to see the Cirque de Soleil show “O” which was an awesome experience for all of us especially seeing the coaches in the show. We then got a backstage tour with Suzannah and Bill, seeing where they train and all the gadgets that are used in the show. Overall, we had so much fun during this trip. It’s not everyday you get to travel with your best friends.
