Nepean Synchro had a strong showing at Novice East Regionals on Sat 2 April, in the swimmers' figures, team routines and as the host club. Brian Corbett and Cathy Walker, two dedicated novice swimmer parents, led the coordination of the competition expertly, despite this being their first experience. Marc Bordeleau, Gail Brennan and Carolyn Perry showed the organizers the steps needed to make it all happen along with advice and support from a small army of volunteers from the novice and competitive streams. All played key roles in the success of hosting the event.
Congratulations to all novice swimmers. Both the 13-15 and 16-20 teams placed first in their routines and in the championship. In figures, final results show Nepean Synchro swimmers placed consistently in the top half of the novice field for the two age groups.
Finally a huge congratulations to Lindsay Pinch and Jen Tinneberg who led their novice swimmers to such a successful outcome! Next up, they will perform at the Nepean Synchro year-end Watershow on Sat 30 April. Then, they will compete at the Montreal Synchro Invitational the weekend of May 7-8. Good luck to all!
