Nepean Synchro Sensational at the Hilton Invitational!!

posted Apr 23, 2015, 1:15 PM by Nepean Synchro

Nepean Synchro was in Etobicoke, April 17-19, 2015, for the Hilton Invitational, the 4th competition of the year for competitive swimmers, and the second one for novice teams. This was a routine only competition, and Nepean Synchro swimmers excelled in the water.

Our swimmers were  represented in the top 6 in 5 provincial stream age categories:  10 and Under placed 4th; the 11 year old teams placed 2nd and 6th;  the 12 year old team placed 4th; the 14 year old team placed 5 th; and the 16-20 team finished 2nd.  There were many more amazing results in the duet and solo events. Please see full results on the Nepean Synchro competitive results page.

The Hilton Worldwide Invitational also offered many new opportunities for Nepean Synchro swimmers. For the first time at this particular meet, some of our swimmers had the opportunity to participate in FINA (national stream) events. The 15 year old team competed in the 13-15 FINA category and swam to the top of the podium with a 1st place finish. Kristin Stremlaw swam to 2nd place in the 13-15 FINA solo category, while Natasha Strong and Jade Warren placed 6th in the 13-15 FINA duet category.

Another new experience was the inclusion of our novice teams on the club roster for the Hilton Invitational. The novice category is new to Nepean Synchro this season and the chance to swim at Hilton gave these two teams the chance to flex their competitive muscles and experience an "away" competition.

Congratulations to all swimmers and coaches. Only 4 weeks of hard work and training remain before the final event of the year, the Ontario Open Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships!
