SPRINGING FORWARD AT EAST REGIONALS

posted Mar 12, 2015, 9:50 AM by Nepean Synchro
On March 7-8, 2015,  Nepean Synchro swimmers competed in their third competition of the year - East Regionals, which is the qualifying meet for participation in the Ontario Open Age Group Championships (Age Groups). Swimmers had to participate at East Regionals in order to "spring forward" to Age Groups, which will be held at the Olympium, in Etobicoke, later in May.

The m
eet started with the figures competition, which provided each swimmer with an opportunity to display their  individual skills in four different figures. All Nepean Synchro swimmers aspired to achieve new personal bests while performing their skills in front of a panel of judges, and met with success. Nepean Synchro swimmers were represented in the top 6 in three age categories: in the 10 and Under (10U) category, Nepean Synchro swimmers placed 2nd through 6th; in the 13-15 Age Group, swimmers placed 1st, 2nd, and 5th; and in the 16-20 category, swimmers placed 3rd and 4th.

Swimmers also participated in the routine portion of  the competition (team events, as well as duets and solos), and had the opportunity to show off their athletic and artistic skills. Highlights from the meet include three 1st place finishes for our teams, as well as multiple first place and podium finishes for duet and solo swimmers. Full results can be found on the Nepean Synchro competitive results page.

Congratulations to all swimmers and coaches on the continued success in 2015.
