Recreational Programs For Adults & Children
Programs 2008 - 2009
The Nepean Synchro Swim Club’s Recreational Program will introduce swimmers to Synchronized Swimming. Beginner level classes develop swimmers comfort in the water, basic sculling skills, and basic synchro positions. As levels increase, further skill development will continue. Swimmers will be taught a routine based on their abilities to be preformed at the year end demonstration. The goal of the Recreational Program is to develop new and beginner synchro swimmers’ skills, which will prepare them for the competitive program.

The swimmers work on their appropriate star level. All swimmers are tested and receive a pin if they pass their level. Testing takes place in the spring, by a qualified Synchro Ontario Judge. The Coach decides the level for testing. The girls progress through the star program and are tested for the level that the coach feels they are capable of passing. For those interested in competitive at some time, the passing level is Star 3.
After Christmas music is chosen by the coach and a routine is choreographed for the swimmers to perform at the Year End Show April.
Year End Show:
Recreational teams perform their routines for family and friends. This will take place May 2th, 2009, 7 p.m. at the Nepean Sportsplex. All swimmers are expected to take part in the show.
The executive and coaching staff dedicate themselves to ensuring that a positive atmosphere of co-operation and encouragement to all swimmers be maintained throughout the year.
