Nepean Synchro Club is 2nd Overall in Ontario
The 2008 Ontario Tier Championships took place in Etobicoke over the weekend and all 8 Nepean teams reached the podium. All the swimmers and coaches should be very proud of their accomplishments this season and we look forward to continued success in the seasons to come.

"Little Women for little Women in Afghanistan" swim-a-thon
On May 4, 2008 33 competitive swimmers from the Nepean Synchro Swim Club participated in a swim-a-thon to raise money and awareness for “Little Women for little Women in Afghanistan”, a nonprofit organization which is an affiliate of “Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan”.
The event came to be as part of a grade 5 school project by one of the club’s Tier 3 swimmers, Christina Chin. The goal was for students to make a difference in their community by using their interests and abilities to help others. Since synchronized swimming is an all female sport, Christina was excited about raising money and awareness for young women and girls in another country.
At the beginning of the club’s usual Sunday morning practice, the girls swam for one hour, for a total of 3032 laps in the 25 meter pool at the Nepean Sportsplex. Their efforts raised just under $1000.00 for the organization! This will more than pay for a teacher’s salary in Afghanistan for one year!

Ontario/Quebec Results are in and Nepean swimmers again show that we are one of the top clubs in Ontario, check the results page for all the scores.
Congratulations to all our swimmers on the fantastic results at the East Regional Championships this past weekend. We certainly showed where we stand in the region by all 8 competitive teams coming out with a top 3 placing. Capturing Gold was our Tier 2, 3 and 4 teams plus our Tier 3 Duet. Silver was awarded to our Tier 4 and 5 Duets while Tier 1 and 5 captured Bronze.
Check out the photos from East Regionals in our Gallery. Don has again agreed to be our official photographer and you may purchase the photos you see on line with 100% of the profits going back to the club. Thanks Don!

Nepean Synchro is proud to annouce that BMO Nesbitt Burns has generously donated brand new Swimmer Backpacks to all our competitive swimmers.
